Throwback Thursday

Image
A graphite tiger from 2008. I used coloured pencils for the eyes and nose and I think this was done on Stonehenge paper (which I hate lol). If I am remembering correctly it its only about 5 or 6 inches big. I need to draw more big cats, always love drawing them.

Throwback Thursday

Image
ASnother old graphite piece of a dog from 2008. I do not remember whos dog this is lol. Probably from some random photo either I or John took one day of a cute dog.

Throwback Thursday Art

Image
A drawing of Sky from 2011. I need to use graphite more, forget how I much I like using graphite. And yes she usually does look that happy and excited lol

Throwback Thursday

Image
I found more oldish art when I was going threw some drawers and for some reason that made me think of the art on the walls. I could scan/photograph that to post for Thursday :) This was from a photo I took at the Highland Show in 2007, the day of the monsoon were everything got soaked.

Big Grey

Image
More done on the big grey draft horse. Basic first layer of light pencil to help with future shading. I don't want this to look 100% accurate, want a slight old school look to it. The first layer blended with a paper stump. I could have just done this with layer after layer of pencil but I don't have the time or patience for that lol

Horse #1

Image
I don't have a title for this and it is a long way from being finished, but I felt like drawing a horse. Just going to keep the background simple like this and have the main focus be the horse, and I have no idea how long this is going to take me to finish, probably a long time.

Throwback Thursday

Image
Art from 2003 done originally in graphite but all I have left is a print I actually forgot I had lol My boss and friend at the time bred Australian Cattle Dogs, still does. Really smart tough little dogs.

Throwback Thursday

Image
Drawing from 1996, I had just turned 15 according to the date. #8 on the list we were given to draw was a tool or complex household object. If the list hadn't of said "complex" household object, I'm sure people would have just drawn a bunch of butter knives lol

Finished Draft Horse

Image
The colours really changed when I wet the Graphitints, and it was very hard to keep the darker colours from bleeding into the lighter ones. I do wish there were more colours, since the colour selection is great for natural objects, but not so much for anything else. The pencils were easy to blend when dry and layered well. I am going to try another drawing with them, since I liked them enough to keep seeing the best way to use them. The only complaint about the pencils is the lack of colours.

Adding Water

Image
Put water on the Graphitints. I like the look. Its a little washed out in places, but that is easy to fix by going over the area with more pencil. Almost had a big mess up by the bottom of the lips, the water spread too far. But managed to fix it thankfully after a bit of panicking :p

Draft Horse Almost Finished

Image
The dry part of this is finished. Now I need to add water to it and cross my fingers it looks OK. I did take a big scan of this version tho, just in case it doesn't work out :p

Throwback Thursday Art

Image
A creepy crawly from 1996 when I was 15. I really wanted a tarantula when I was younger, but dad is deathly allergic and most other people are too creeped out lol

Throwback Thursday Art

Image
Art from when I was 15. Says on it, "OK, but was supposed to be a human figure" lol

Throwback Thursday Art

Image
15 when I did this lol  And an attempt to draw a Xoloitzcuintle at age 22. Even tho they have no hair, they can be hard to draw lol

Draft Horse Update

Image
The horse is pretty much done, now to finish the tack.

Back to the Draft Horse

Image
Its been awhile since I worked on this Draft horse and since I had nothing else to do, thought I probably should get some work done on it. Slowly building up the neck area, need to darken it slightly. Then onto the tack, which hopefully will not take that long. And hopefully its not another 6 or more weeks before I work on it again :p

Small Draft Horse Update

Image
Almost done with the body of the horse and then onto colouring the tack. Hopefully get the body finished this weekend but depends on if I get some research for Uni finished first. (Which includes watching the last of the Daredevil episodes I have left :p).

Draft Horse Update #4

Image
I need to think of a title for this besides "Draft  Horse". I did say I was going to try to get this finished by now, but I took a day and a bit off of work since I figure I go back to Uni next week and will be very busy soon so should take a bit of a break from work. Need to darken the ears a bit now that I see a photo of it, but other than that, really liking how it is looking. Probably just jinxed myself now by saying that lol

Draft Horse Update #3

Image
Small update on the draft horse. Hopefully get more finished tomorrow and get a scan of it instead of a photo at 10:30 at night when the lighting is crappy :p Need to add a bit more Port colour to the muzzle to give it some more pinkish colour, but not too much that his nose is bright pink.

Draft Horse Update

Image
Coming along slowly mostly due to my fuzzy vision. This is easy to work on since I can just work on one section and move on to the next, but having to stop frequently due to messed up vision is getting frustrating.  The muzzle still need some shading and then I can start to work on the ears :)
