Rough Stampede

I had planed on do a more realistic drawing of these horses, but in the end I really just wanted to make a mess :p Still needs work in a few places, and while I do like drawing realistically, it is nice to just draw and not really think about it.

Look into my Eyes

Image
Starting another coloured pencil Tiger, but just the eyes this time. And was messing around with Inktense pencils last night, came up with this :) For Sale

Found his Spots

Image
For Sale The cheetah found his spots :) I think he might need glasses tho, looks a little cross eyed :p And I really like how this is looking. Taking awhile, this is about 3 hours of work, but slow and steady and all that....

Missing his Spots??

Image
hmmm needs something :p And while the cheetah dries, I started work on an eagle. All of the feathers are going to drive me insane :p

Meow?

Image
A cheetah that looks more like a dog then a cat :p Need to fix the muzzle, and the space between the eyes is too close. No where near being ready to attack with water, but its getting there :)

Blue and Red

Can a person draw too many horses?? :p Inktense pencils on canvas board. I had never used Inktense on board before. They work OK dry but the first wet layer really pools on the surface, but after that it is easy to add more ink to it. Does take a long time to draw, 2 hours later and this was still wet. Creepy horse :p Not finished, but it needs to dry before I add any more ink to it. :D

Never More?

Image
Raven done with inktense pencils and water colour. While I still like drawing realistically, finding drawing more loose like this fun :)

Ink!

Wrecked- For Sale Very loose piece for me, love working with Inktense pencils. The colours are so nice and vibrant. I would give my right leg for a whole set of them (of course I wouldn't mention that my right leg does have the habit of twitching at random moments, buyer beware an all :p)

Shake?

Image
Shake-For sale We have tried and tried and tried to get Sky to shake, but she just looks at us like we are crazy :p Not that I want to shake a horses hoof :p Too much of a chance of broken fingers. Take a Bow-For Sale I need to make a sculpure for one of my classes, so have been messing around with different horse poses. I think this one would be easier to do than a rearing horse, and have less chance of falling over :p

Blue Period??

Image
Been drawing a lot of blue horses lately lol This was just done for a quick study, I want to do a bigger version with the Inktense pencils, so need to draw the image a few times to get it looking the way I want before I go bigger with it. Not sure what to do with the background, I just put a plain red one so the horse wasn't floating in the air, but don't really like the way it looks, too simple I think.

For Sale So I'm going back to college. Yeah I feel like getting up at an insanely early time again and risking the crazy bus system (and hope the bus doesn't catch on fire). I did apply for 2 courses, was accepted into one and am on the waiting list for the other. The course I did get into was the same course I was on last time when I went crazy and had to stop going. I am determined this time to finish it, I was so close that when I stop and think about it I was stupid for not going. OK so I was crazy, so thats a bit of an excuse but it still bugs me that I didn't finish the course.I think now that I am on meds for the depression and anxiety that I should be able to finish it; and that we also seem to have figured out what works the best with the MS, I should finish. I did have to paint my butt off for a portfolio tho because I didn't really have that many paintings to put in it, lots of drawings just not a lot of paintings. Decided I had nothing to lose by experi...

Woof

Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip One green horse finished. I haven't yet decided that my style loosening up due to college is a good thing or a bad thing. On the one hand I am a lot quicker, but on the other its really really scribbly :p Copyright Leslie Hawes Blog friend Leslie sent me this drawing of Luka :D I love it, just need to find a frame now and hang it on the wall. I am so glad its the weekend soon. Need to sleep in for a few hours and then get caught up on some drawing. Well thats the plan. Things seem to have the habit of changing....

Inktense Dragons

Image
Ink on Daler-Rowney Extra Smooth Watercolour paper 2.5 by 3.5 Inches Copyright Jennifer Rose Phillip I decided to try out my Inktense pencils on some dragons. I had the line art from previous colouring attempts at these designs, so I just transferred it onto the paper and inked the outlines. There are 4 different designs, all supposed to look like they are trapped in the art card. I thought that they could be matted together in one long frame in the order of the colours of the rainbow. Like ROYGBIV. (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), because each dragon has a main body colour that would go in that order. Anyone else have any other way to remember the order colours go in a rainbow?? I really like this paper. The ink flowed smoothly over the surface and didn't bleed through the other side. The Inktense pencils also laid down very smoothly and were easy to blend. It does also work very well with watercolour pencils and normal watercolours. This is the pencils laid down...
