Peanut Butter Cookies

This recipe is my grandmother's on my father's side. There use to be more of them but over time they got lost, but dad gave me this since I was at the time the only one who baked anything. I remember having these all the time when at the rare times we would get together at Xmas. I want to make them now, but am having a hell of a time finding shortening.

    Nothing like grandma's recipes. I have shortening on hand all the time. Crisco in a can. Hope you find some.

    Ohh, thanks for this. I had a similar recipe and it it long gone. We used to make sort of a hashtag on the top of each ball with a fork dipped in cold water so it didn’t stick, pushing the ball a little flat. Do you do that? Again, thank you for this.

This weeks colours for The Summer of Color are 2 purples and a yellow and this is what I did with them. Not my favorite colours so really racked my brain trying to think how I could use them and which bird to use. Decided to go with a juvenile Golden Eagle since I don't have any photos of a purple bird :p I think I prefer the black background, the yellow seems to stand out more against it. Which do you prefer?
